Manuela Neumann, MD from the University Hospital Tuebingen, Tuebingen, Germany provides an overview of the neuropathology and genetics of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Prof. Neumann explains the rationale behind the idea that these conditions are pathomechanistically related and highlights TDP-43, which accumulates in half of FTD and almost all ALS patients.
