AAIC 2017 | What can we be excited about in the world of Alzheimer’s disease?

Marwan Sabbagh, MD, from Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix, AZ tells us about what he is particularly excited about in the field of Alzheimer’s disease at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2017, London, UK. He is specifically looking forward to data next year on azeliragon, an inhibitor of the RAGE compound. Dr Sabbagh is also looking forward to peripheral diagnostics becoming more mainstream for e.g. blood test screening. He is currently working a very interesting project with researchers in Vancouver to devise a test to detect amyloid in the saliva, which may act as a screening tool in the future.
