Vladimir Hachinski, MD, DSc, FAAN, Western University, Ontario, Canada, discusses a new definition of brain resilience. Different terms are used, such as brain reserve, resilience, cognitive reserve, and brain maintenance. However, the need remains for a simplified overarching definition of brain resilience. With resilience being defined as the ability to resist harm, it can be specified to the brain and almost any other area. However, the common denominator is always the balance between harm and resistance. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology 2022 Congress in Seattle, WA.
