AAN 2022 | Associations between neuropsychiatric symptoms and the progression of Alzheimer’s disease

Corinne Fischer, MD, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada, discusses how the appearance of neuropsychiatric symptoms before the onset of Alzheimer’s disease and at various stages in the progression of the disease can be an indicator of the severity of the disease. An improved understanding of mild behavioral impairment (MBI) has shown that an early appearance of neuropsychiatric symptoms, without cognitive problems, could be an early warning sign of the development of neurodegenerative disease. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology 2022 Congress in Seattle, WA.
