CONy 2020 | Dementia, stress and the molecular age of the brain

Luiza Spiru, MD, PhD, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania, discusses the role of stress in dementia. Underline stress can affect the molecular age of the brain and is associated with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. Research needs to focus on understanding how the brain determines the molecular age. There are many stressors and variables that can influence molecular age, but by understanding them we can develop personalized and precise medicine. This interview took place during the Virtual World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) 2020.
