CONy 2022 | Including people with Down syndrome in Alzheimer’s disease research

Johannes Levin, MD, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Munich, Germany, discusses Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in individuals with Down syndrome. There is currently a significant deficit in studying the field of AD in the Down syndrome population. Much progress has been made in recent years, yet more access is required to provide the best care and research for these individuals. The United Nations (UN) states that they have a right to be involved in research – thus, more work is needed to accommodate their medical needs. This interview was conducted during the 2022 World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) meeting.
