ARUK 2021 | Understanding tau proteostasis using iPSC

Selina Wray, PhD, University College London, London, UK, discusses work investigating tau proteostasis in development and disease using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC). iPSC were used to generate cortical neurons and cerebral organoids to investigate the regulation of proteasome activity and its relationship to tau throughout neuronal differentiation and maturation. Prof. Wray highlights that a better understanding of tau proteostasis regulators might give insight into protective strategies against tau aggregation. This interview took place during the Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) Conference 2021.
