AAIC 2022 | What is the future of modifiable dementia risk factors research?

Lisa Bransby, BAppSci (Psych) (Hons), Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, discusses modifiable dementia risk factors and their impact on cognition in middle aged adults. In this field, barriers to dementia risk reduction are beginning to be acknowledged and investigators are carrying out research to overcome these barriers. However, it is clear that there is an underrepresentation of research into not only people with low socioeconomic status from low and middle-income countries, but also culturally and linguistically diverse populations, which Ms Bransby highlights as a major limitation to current dementia research. This interview took place at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2022 in San Diego, CA.
