AD/PD 2022 | Greatest needs in dementia research: early diagnosis

Abdulrazak Abyad, MD, Abyad Medical Center, Tripoli, Lebanon, discusses the greatest needs in dementia research in the coming years. One primary focus will be the early diagnosis of dementia to postpone the progression of the disease. Primary care physicians’ and specialists’ education and training is a critical step to detecting dementia as early as possible. Improved and accessible diagnostic tools, such as blood tests, will also play an essential role in the early diagnosis of dementia.
