Genetics play a key role in the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, but to what extent? In this thought-provoking interview, Delphine Boche, PhD, from the University of Southampton, Southampton, UK, explains how our knowledge of the contribution of genetics to the development of Alzheimer’s disease has changed and why further research is needed. In addition to further research, Prof. Boche raises the question of the relevancy of data acquired from animal models, and how proteins can be compared between these models and human models.
