Laura Santambrogio, MD, PhD, Weill Cornell Medicine, New York, NY, describes how disease-specific biomarkers in the lymphatic system can be discovered much earlier than in the blood. This is because lymphatic capillaries are the only capillaries in the human body that are open-ended. Therefore, interstitial fluid from any ongoing processes in all organs will drain directly to the lymphatic system. This interview took place at the AD/PD™ 2022 International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases hosted in Barcelona, Spain.
