AAIC 2018 | Modelling oligodendrocyte dysfunction in dementia

Oligodendrocyte dysfunction has been linked to dementia, although the exact function of these cells within the disease is unclear. In this video, recorded at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2018, held in Chicago, IL, Ragnhildur Thora Karadottir, PhD, of the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK, discusses her research into oligodendrocytes. She gives an overview of the modelling techniques she has used in an attempt to recreate the environment of human brain matter with dementia-like pathologies in vitro.
