AD/PD 2022 | The promise of data science for the study of dementia

Sudeshna Das, PhD, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, shares her thoughts on the promise of applying data science approaches to the study of neurodegenerative diseases. Machine learning tools have the potential to analyze large volumes of data, such as electronic health records (EHR) and omics data, and identify previously unrecognized patterns. Developing such approaches to predict future cognitive decline in patients with mild cognitive impairment and to conduct in silico trials using EHR data are examples of how this technology is currently being used. This interview took place at the AD/PD™ 2022 Conference in Barcelona, Spain.
