AAIC 2021 | Beyond amyloid & tau: neuroinflammation, rhes & proteomics

Lea Grinberg, MD, PhD, Weill Institute for Neurosciences and Memory and Aging Center, University of California, San Francisco, CA, discusses biomarker development in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and the importance of broadening research beyond looking at amyloid and tau in biofluids. Dr Grinberg chaired a session at the AAIC 2021 meeting entitled ‘Biomarkers (non-neuroimaging): Beyond Measuring Tau and Beta-amyloid’, which highlighted exciting research looking at novel biomarkers in AD. Markers of neuroinflammation, multiomics, and proteomics were discussed. This interview took place during the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2021.
