Emmanuelle Viré, PhD, Institute of Prion Diseases, University College London, London, explains the potential of epigenetic inhibitors in the treatment of neurodegenerative disease and how prion diseases are being used as a model. Dr Vire also discusses current research on a single cell experiment in an animal model of prion disease which has potentially identified a very early stage of disease.
