ARUK 2022 | How ARUK is working to address major gaps in dementia research

Susan Kohlhaas, PhD, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Cambridge, UK, talks on the major research gaps that Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is hoping to address. The Drug Discovery Alliance, between ARUK, The University of Oxford, The University of Cambridge, and University College London, aims to improve translational research, while the Dementia Consortium, composed of various industry partners, is working on translating drug targets from academia into industry development. ARUK also hopes to improve upon early diagnosis of dementia, with initiatives like EDoN (Early Detection of Neurodegenerative Diseases) investigating the use of wearable digital technology in the diagnosis of dementia. This interview took place at the Alzheimer’s Research UK Conference 2022 in Brighton, UK.
