ARUK 2018 | Stroke as a risk factor for dementia: a meta-analysis

Many studies have investigated the relationship between stroke and dementia; however, there had been no meta-analysis to quantify this assocation, until now. Here, David Llewellyn, PhD, of the University of Exeter Medical School, Exeter, UK, discusses his group’s random effects meta-analysis of the link between stroke and dementia. This exciting analysis included 46 studies with over 3,000,000 participants. Dr Llewellyn discusses the results observed and the next steps for this research. This interview was recorded at the Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) Conference 2018, held in London, UK.
