AAIC 2017 | What contributes towards biomarker expression in Alzheimer’s disease?

While biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease have been identified, it is still unclear what contribution genetic and environmental factors have on their expression. Pieter Jelle Visser, MD, PhD from Maastricht University and VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam, Netherlands talks us through one of his recent studies, which examined the heritability of early amyloid pathologies in a cohort of monozygotic twins, and discusses the significance of the results. This interview was recorded at the 2017 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) in London, UK.
