ARUK 2018 | Dementias Platform UK: The power of volunteers in the progression of dementia research

In the last 20 years, clinical trials investigating the causes of dementia and suitable treatments have had a near 100% failure rate, and one of the reasons is thought to be centered around a lack of information on the patients that are being tested. Anna Myers, from the University of Oxford, Oxford, UK, explains how the clinical studies register is a new initiative launched by Dementias platform UK that provides researchers access to personal data collected from a large cohort over several years, which may prove more useful in the development of highly targeted dementia studies. Recorded at the Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) Conference 2018, held in London, UK.
