Impairment of the glymphatic system in Alzheimer’s disease

The glymphatic system is a pathway which allows the clearance of proteins and waste products from the brain. Ozama Ismail, BSc from University College London, London, UK describes a recent study which examined the potential role this pathway plays in Alzheimer’s disease, and the relationship between this clearance system and tau pathology. Mr Ismail explains the results of the study and talks about plans for subsequent studies in this field. This interview was recorded at the 2017 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) held in London, UK.
