ARUK 2022 | The PET-MR harmonization clinical study: PET-MR vs. PET-CT in dementia research

Pawel Markiewicz, PhD, University College London, London, UK, discusses a study testing the reliability and accuracy of PET-MR scanners, in comparison to the more commonly used PET-CT scanners. The study reported that PET-MR scanners were just as good as PET-CT scanners in this regard, with the added benefit of combining two of the key imaging techniques used in dementia research, so they could be a very useful tool in clinical trials and clinical practice in the future. This interview took place at the Alzheimer’s Research UK Conference 2022 in Brighton, UK.
