AAIC 2017 | Creature comforts: robotic animals in the care of dementia patients

Interacting and connecting with animals has been shown to have therapeutic benefits, but does the same still apply if those animals are robotic? Jesse Hoey, PhD from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada talks to us about recent studies which examined the beneficial effects that caring for responsive, robotic creatures has on patients suffering from dementia. This interview was recorded at the 2017 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) held in London, UK.
